Camera, microphone, speakers, and bandwidth. Media stays on your device. Built for Intercept clinicians.
Local media only
Safety first
Camera and microphone media never leave your device. Nothing is uploaded or recorded to a server.
Never paste commands into Win+R, Terminal, PowerShell, or Run dialogs from any website.
When you finish, stop the camera and mic here, then revoke browser camera and microphone permission in your browser settings.
This page has no ads and no third-party scripts that touch your camera or microphone.
We log your name, email, and basic browser details (OS/platform string, screen size, connection hints) for readiness metrics. The browser cannot see hardware drivers or GPU inventory.

1 Bandwidth / Speedtest
HD telehealth needs stable upload and download. Run a speed check, then compare to the minimums below. Intercept may set its own thresholds; edit the defaults if your team gave you different numbers.
Defaults: about 3 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up for HD group video, latency under 150 ms, packet loss under 1%. Save a screenshot of your results for your IT ticket.
Speedtest.net and Zoom open in a new tab. They are industry-standard checks, not webcam sites. Prefer Ethernet or a strong Wi-Fi connection near the router.

Probe notes
Measures round-trip time to this page origin (or a public HTTPS endpoint if opened as a file). Not a full speedtest.
Future house speedtest (stub)
A Chibitek-hosted speedtest (download, upload, jitter, packet loss) can be added later behind a subdomain such as av.chibitek.com. It needs dedicated bandwidth servers. Until then, use Speedtest.net plus the Zoom network check, and paste results into your ticket.
VPN and home networks
If you use a VPN for work, run one test with VPN on and one with VPN off. Note both results.
VPN can add latency and reduce upload. For live consults, many clinicians do better on a direct home connection when policy allows.
Packet loss over about 1% usually shows up as choppy audio or frozen video. Reboot the router, move closer to Wi-Fi, or use a wired link and retest.
2 Webcam
Start your camera for a live preview. Resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, and device name stay on this device.
Camera off
Camera preview will appear here after you allow access.

Lighting and framing
Face a window or lamp. Avoid a bright window behind you.
Camera at eye level. Head and shoulders in frame.
Target at least 720p (1280×720) when the device supports it.
3 Microphone
Speak normally and watch the level meter. Optionally record a few seconds and play it back (playback stays in this browser tab).

Headset vs laptop mic
A USB or Bluetooth headset with a boom mic almost always beats the built-in laptop mic for consults.
Laptop mics pick up keyboard noise and room echo. Prefer a headset in quiet rooms.
If levels stay near zero, check the OS mute key and that the correct device is selected above.
4 Speakers / headphones
Play a short test tone generated in this browser. No audio file is downloaded from the internet.
Idle
If you hear nothing, check system volume, headset connection, and that the correct output device is selected in your OS sound settings.
Echo and noise
Use headphones when possible. Speakers plus an open mic often cause echo for the other party.
Mute when you are not speaking if you are on speakerphone.
Close other apps that use the mic (browser tabs, voice assistants) before a consult.

Optional: confirm you can share a browser tab (useful for showing charts or notes in Zoom/Teams).
Zoom / Teams reminder
After this page, still run the built-in Zoom or Teams video and audio test on the same device and headset you use for consults.
That path is the one that matters for live bedside video.
6 Copy-ready summary
Refresh after you finish tests, then copy into a Mochii or Autotask ticket.
